I think the most important thing i learned was that if you send a animal such as a chicken, to a poor family then they have eggs, money (if they sell the eggs), and meat, plus something that will last longer then say a basket of potatos. Once you eat the potatos they're gone. or if you send seeds, they have a crop that will keep on growing food. And best of all they reproduce so you can't run of easily.
