Saving the Environment and Money- Jeffrey Su Entry #1
The most important thing that I learned is that helping to save the environment requires little steps. If you do it in one big step, you could get tired of it and stop doing it. Going slowly won't stress you or make you tired. You can also see what progress you have made. Like for my family, we decided to first try to use CFL's. We changed all the light blubs, then we tried to take showers for a shorter amount of time. Like first making it only nine minutes then seven and it keep on going until 5 minutes. While saving the environment, you can also save money. For example, after switching to CFL's we saved lots of money on electricity bill. Rechargeable batteries can also save lots of money. You could save up to 2 million dollars if you used up 1000 rechargeable batteries, this is compared to the amount that it uses to buy 1000 disposable batteries. So, the most important lesson I learned is to take little steps to save earth instead of doing something drastically.
