Save marine life--Impana Murthy Entry #2

"Were you successful in convincing people to make a change in their lives in regards to your project? Why do you think they did or did not agree to make a change? What did you learn about what it takes to persuade people to make a change in their lifestyle and how can you more effectively convince people to make a change if you were to do this again?"

I was successful in convincing my audience to make small changes in their lives to make a huge overall change. For example, if you drive a hybrid, then, less gas is used. This way, the risk of oil spills in the ocean is not as great. My audience listened to m presentation and agreed that if we make these changes, we can make the world a better place. So, they agreed to do their part. One said that she will take shorter showers to use less water, so that less dirty water is poured into the oceans. And the other two said that they will try to bike or walk to run errands instead of getting there by car.
When I checked in with the people I showed my project to, I saw that they actually had made those changes. One person told me that instead of taking 15-20 minute showers, she took 5-6 minute showers. Also, the other two told me that they bike to school. This shows that we can all make a difference very easily!
