Car/Gas Replacement- Parth Baokar Entry #2

Were you successful in convincing people to make a change in their lives in regards to your project? Why do you think they did or did not agree to make a change? What did you learn about what it takes to persuade people to make a change in their lifestyle and how can you more effectively convince people to make a change if you were to do this again?

I was partially successful in assuring this. The answer was a half and half. I checked back with my parents if they actually made a change. I got an answer of "there is a 50/50 chance that we do buy a hybrid". I don't think they were able to make a change because buying a hybrid car is too expensive. Also I don't think anybody will buy a hybrid just a few days after your presentation unless you're lucky that person was originally planning to buy one. To find a new source of fuel is also hard. My parents stock up in a local gas station. I'm positive that no parent will go out of the local area just to find an alternate fuel source. To convince a person you need hardcore evidence I would want to annoy the person into doing the job if I redid the presentation. It is very much like repetitively asking your mom for candy. When she finally gets very annoyed she gives in and gives you candy.
